Senior Power Systems Engineer | Sydney or Brisbane (Hybrid) | Renewable Energy Developer

My client is a renewable energy developer who has a robust track record in getting projects through to operation.

n

As they grow their grid capability, they are hiring a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join the Grid team, reporting to the Head of Grid and Lead.

n

What you will be doing

n

n
- Preparing R0 and R1 packages, either in-house or through management and peer review of external consultants
n
- Supporting negotiation of Generator Performance Standards against the requirements of the National Electricity Rules
n
- Grid modelling using PSSE and PSCAD, ensuring quality and compliance of R0 and R1 packages in support of 534A and B letters
n
- Working with OEMs to optimise performance against automatic access standards
n
- Driving compliance with Dynamic Model Acceptance Testing and Power System Modelling Guidelines, including review of studies conducted in-house and by third parties
n
- Partnering with the Project Development team on constraints, load flow and capacity for new and emerging development sites
n
- Building relationships with AEMO, NSPs,

What they are looking for

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in grid modelling or electrical engineering, with Australian experience in grid connection and electrical design
n
- Experience performing grid studies in PSCAD and PSSE
n
- Exposure to negotiating GPS outcomes with NSPs and AEMO
n
- Solid understanding of the NER, National Electricity Law and related state legislation
n
- Strong communication skills and a solutions-focused approach to resolving complex technical issues
n
- Experience with CIS or LTESA tender responses, reverse DC coupled hybrids or grid forming batteries is a plus
n
