The Project Officer Natural Disasters and Emergency Management drives the development and implementation of projects and processes across the Natural Disasters and Emergency Management branch. The role coordinates and delivers support to the Director Natural Disasters and Emergency Management as well as the broader Natural Disasters and Emergency Management Leadership Team on matters regarding emergency strategy, governance and coordination, emergency and workforce capability, emergency assets and systems, and natural disaster emergency preparedness and response.

This position supports the Natural Disasters and Emergency Management branch through project coordination, stakeholder engagement, communications and other support. The role contributes to improving Agriculture Victoria’s emergency preparedness capability by supporting business planning, reporting, human resources, procurement, finance and logistics activities, as well as coordinating priority actions and projects, including the management and ongoing enhancement of the branch SharePoint site.

To perform effectively in this role, it is essential to have demonstrated skills in project management, prioritisation, administration/executive support, and excellent conceptual skills. The successful applicant will also have highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, a collaborative mindset, the ability to manage multiple and competing requests, and the ability to work across various projects, teams and branches. The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate motivation,



initiative and confidence when engaging with stakeholders.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
