About The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Reticulation Network Engineer to join our Community Utilities Division, supporting the operation, maintenance, and renewal of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's water and wastewater reticulation networks. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering professional with a passion for infrastructure and community service to contribute technical expertise and lead projects that ensure the safe, reliable delivery of essential utilities.

About The Role

n

Reporting to the Reticulation Networks Manager, you will provide engineering support to the Community Utilities Operations team by:

n

- Providing engineering support and technical advice for the maintenance, renewal, and compliance of water and sewer reticulation assets.
n
- Preparing operational and safety procedures, including shutdown protocols, risk assessments, and construction documentation.
n
- Managing licensing, regulatory reporting, and environmental impact controls in line with relevant legislation.
n
- Leading planning, design, relevant approval applications, delivery, and capitalisation of Utilities Operations projects following PMHC's Project Management Framework.
n
- Collaborating with Planning, Design, and Project Delivery teams to review designs and analyse operational data.
n
- Leading procurement activities for works and services supporting treatment plants and headworks assets.
n
- Identifying and implementing process optimisations and innovations to improve system performance.Promoting safe work practices through inspections, inductions, and risk management initiatives.
n
- Providing operational support across Community Utilities areas and participating in the after-hours on-call roster.

About You

n

To be successful in this position:

n

n
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated experience in the water supply and wastewater industry, ideally within an operational environment.
n




- Proven skills in project planning, management, and delivery.
n
- Experience in process optimisation and troubleshooting within water and sewer operations.
n
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
n
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, databases, and SCADA systems.
n
- A cooperative approach, strong commitment to safety and compliance, and motivation to enhance community infrastructure through innovation and technical excellence.

Remuneration And Benefits

n

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week plus flex time)

n

Salary: Starting from $101,015.87 to $113,067.81 per year depending on skills and experience plus 12% super and allowances

n

This role also qualifies for a leaseback vehicle or allowance
