Formed in 1917, The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria’s largest provider of Residential, Community and Home-based early parenting services for families with children from birth to four years of age. With our Residential Early Parenting Centre's in Noble Park and Hastings and Community home-based services across Victoria, we play a special role in providing parenting education and support to thousands of families every year to give their children the best start in life.

About the role

Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team at QEC to deliver specialised early parenting support and play experiences for children from birth to under four years. Guided by our Model of Care, you will create a safe, therapeutic environment that builds parenting capacity and supports children's development.

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate purposeful play to promote children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and communication growth.
- Coach and support parents through modeling,



education, and play-based interactions to help them understand child cues and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with families and staff to identify, respond to, and meet individual family goals.
- Provide inclusive care that builds on unique family strengths and ensures a culturally safe, welcoming experience.

About you

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Children’s Services Family Support, Community Services or a related discipline with demonstrated experience working with young children and families.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and the importance of play in supporting children's development, wellbeing, learning and connection with their parents and caregivers
- Experience supporting families in the early parenting period through education, modelling, coaching and practical guidance
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with families.
- Health Care Worker Immunisations
- Excellent communication, organisational skills and ability to be self-directed
