About the Department

Dandenong Emergency Department is a busy 24-hour service providing care to the diverse and rapidly growing communities of Melbourne's south-east. With 55 treatment spaces, including four resuscitation bays, a 20-bed Short Stay Unit, and a dedicated Fast Track area, the department manages a broad range of emergency presentations across medical, surgical, orthopaedic, mental health and paediatric specialties.

About the Role

Join our team as an Associate Nurse Manager – Clinical Lead on a full time, fixed basis until September 2027 to work out of Dandenong Emergency Department.

This is a nursing leadership role representing an integral link between the nursing team and the broader leadership team. You will be approachable, articulate, and a mentor who leads by example. You'll thrive supporting nurses whilst working closely with the Nurse Manager to help drive the operational requirements and key performance indicators of the department, delivering outstanding patient-centred emergency care.

You will be responsible for supporting the management of specific portfolios, including:

- Adult and paediatric quality and safety portfolios, using clinical insights, data, audits and incident learnings to identify opportunities and deliver meaningful improvements in patient care and experience
- Clinical governance and accreditation readiness
- Day to day clinical and operational activities
- Quality, risk and safety, including emergency management and occupational health and safety

This position works non-clinical shifts,



Monday to Friday but may need to step in clinically to support the floor if required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

- Proven people and communication skills, including relationship building, cooperation, conflict resolution and facilitating open discussions
- Demonstrated recent leadership and management experience, including coaching, development and managing performance within a nursing team
- The ability to drive a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement, with strong organisational and time management skills

Key requirements of the role:

- Appointment at Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) level or higher, or demonstrated capacity to work at this level
- A postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing, Leadership and Management, or a related field (desirable)
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra)
