Retail Performance Lead - 12 Month Contract

About the role

We’re looking for a Retail Performance Lead to manage a portfolio of United Petroleum sites across Melbourne's outer south east and Gippsland.

This is 12 month hands‑on role, is for someone who is comfortable being on the road, working with different personalities, tackling challenging situations and holding people accountable to high standards.

You’ll take ownership of the performance of multiple sites, working directly with retailers and site teams to improve sales, customer experience, compliance and operational performance.

You'll be responsible for:

- Managing and building relationships across a multi-site portfolio
- Driving sales, profitability and overall site performance
- Coaching and developing store teams and operators
- Identifying underperforming sites and putting improvement plans in place
- Having the confidence to manage difficult conversations and challenging situations
- Ensuring sites meet operational, safety, food safety and customer service standards
- Using performance data to identify opportunities and drive results
- Supporting new site openings, changeovers and operational improvements

About you

We're looking for someone who has experience managing multiple locations or sites, ideally within:





- Petrol & convenience
- Rapid food / QSR
- Multi‑site retail
- Hospitality or other high‑volume, fast‑paced environments

You’ll bring:

- Proven experience driving sales and commercial performance
- Strong multi‑site operational leadership experience
- Confidence coaching, influencing and holding people accountable
- The ability to deal with difficult people and challenging situations
- Resilience and the ability to perform under pressure
- A hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle

The territory

- Ideally based in Melbourne's outer south east or Gippsland, including Pakenham, Warragul, Traralgon or surrounding areas.
- The role covers sites from Melbourne through Gippsland to Cann River, so regular travel and occasional overnight stays are required.
