Your Opportunity

Head of Special Education Services for a Secondary School of 680 students.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to have experience and confident in curriculum, teaching and learning for inclusion, managing a program of instruction and creating a positive school environment for diverse learners.

Evidence of experience in effective case management, timetabling, resourcing strategically, NCCD processes,



restrictive practices and building capabilities of Teacher Aides.

Responsibilities Include

- Lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support through the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program, including guidance to classroom teachers supporting students with disability.
- Provide advice to school leadership, teachers and staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments, while coordinating intensive targeted teaching and intervention for students requiring additional support.
- Coordinate and support case management for students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments, including assisting staff to access departmental and external specialist services, professional development and relevant supports.
- Contribute to school decision-making, professional development, planning and school-wide data systems, including monitoring students with disability and coordinating the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.
- Build and maintain partnerships with parents, government agencies and community groups, while managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve identified goals.
