We are an established and growing Australian business supplying products to major retail and trade customers across Australia and New Zealand.

Operating across a range of consumer and home improvement categories, we work closely with overseas manufacturers to develop, source and import products for our growing customer base.

With continued investment in new product development and international sourcing, we are looking for an experienced person to join our Melbourne team and help manage our overseas supplier relationships, sourcing activities and inbound supply chain.

The Role

Working closely with our commercial, product and operations teams, you will help manage the sourcing and movement of products from overseas suppliers through to arrival in Australia.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Sourcing new products, manufacturers and supply opportunities.
- Identifying, assessing and developing relationships with new factories and suppliers.
- Maintaining strong working relationships with existing overseas suppliers.
- Working directly with factories on product specifications, quotations, samples, packaging and production requirements.
- Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations.
- Negotiating pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms and other commercial arrangements.
- Coordinating product samples, prototypes and product changes.
- Supporting new product development from initial sourcing through to production.
- Monitoring factory production schedules and ensuring agreed timelines are met.
- Maintaining regular communication with suppliers regarding production progress, issues and delivery timing.
- Coordinating international imports and inbound logistics.
- Managing container bookings and working closely with freight forwarders and shipping partners.
- Monitoring vessel schedules, shipments, ETAs and potential delays.
- Coordinating shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists and other import documentation.




- Liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers and our warehouse team.
- Coordinating incoming containers and stock arrivals.
- Maintaining accurate records of incoming shipments and providing clear updates to internal teams.
- Identifying potential production, freight or supply issues early and working proactively to resolve them.
- Assisting with purchase orders and ensuring quantities, pricing and shipping details are accurate.
- Assisting with supplier claims, credits and corrective actions where required.
- Continually looking for opportunities to improve supplier pricing, lead times, quality and reliability.

Mandarin language skills are highly preferable.

About You

We are looking for someone with practical experience across international sourcing, imports and logistics who is organised, commercially minded and comfortable dealing directly with overseas factories.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in sourcing, importing, international logistics, supply chain or a similar role.
- Experience dealing directly with overseas factories and manufacturers.
- Experience working with Chinese suppliers highly regarded.
- A good understanding of how products are sourced, manufactured and imported.
- Experience obtaining quotations and negotiating directly with suppliers.
- Experience managing international freight, container shipments and inbound logistics.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation and import processes.
- Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.




- Strong supplier relationship and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple suppliers, orders, production schedules and shipments at the same time.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience within consumer products, hardware, plumbing, appliances, filtration, home improvement or other manufactured goods would be highly regarded.
- Mandarin Highly Preferable

A significant part of this role involves working directly with factories and suppliers throughout China.

For this reason, Mandarin language skills are highly preferable and would be a strong advantage when communicating with suppliers, negotiating commercial outcomes and resolving production or logistics issues.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership and following things through.

You should be comfortable sourcing a new supplier, requesting and comparing quotations, organising samples, communicating with factories, following production, coordinating freight and tracking goods through to arrival in Australia.

This is not purely a logistics administration role.

It is a varied position combining sourcing, supplier management, imports and logistics, with the opportunity to become closely involved in new product development and the continued growth of our supply network.

This position is based full-time from our Dandenong South office in Melbourne.
