About the role

As the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Advisor, you will lead and manage Trinity College's occupational health and safety function, operating with a high degree of autonomy as the College's sole OHS specialist. You will lead the ongoing development and improvement of our OHS framework, systems and practices, while providing trusted advice and practical support to leaders and staff across the College. Your responsibilities will span workplace risk and compliance, incident investigations, audits, First Aid and HSR requirements, WorkCover and Return to Work. Working collaboratively across the College, you will identify emerging risks, drive practical safety improvements and play an important role in fostering a proactive and positive safety culture.

Skills & Experience

- Relevant qualifications in occupational health and safety or a related discipline, supported by demonstrated OHS experience.
- The confidence and capability to take ownership of an OHS function, work autonomously and provide trusted specialist advice.
- Strong knowledge of Victorian OHS, workers' compensation and Return to Work legislation and regulatory requirements.




- Experience developing and improving OHS systems, policies and procedures, and managing risk assessments, incident investigations and audits.
- Experience managing workplace injuries, WorkCover claims and Return to Work processes, including working with relevant external providers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and translate OHS requirements into practical solutions.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with sound judgement and the ability to identify risks, manage competing priorities and drive initiatives through to completion.

Employment Type and Salary

This is part time (0.6 FTE), ongoing role. The annual base salary for this position is $115,679 FTE (band level 4.5) + 12% Superannuation + 17.5% Leave Loading.
