The Drug Detection Agency Queensland (TD DA)
Queensland
$90,000 + Super | 35-Hour Week | Finish 12pm Every Friday
The Drug Detection Agency Queensland (TDDA QLD) is a growing and forward-thinking business specialising in workplace drug and alcohol testing, policy development and training.
We work with organisations across a wide range of industries to help them maintain safer, more productive and compliant workplaces.
As our Queensland operations continue to grow, we are looking for an organised, confident and highly capable Operations Manager to join our team based at our Eagle Farm Head Office.
This is a hands‑on operational role responsible for coordinating the day‑to‑day delivery of our Brisbane services, supporting our testing team and ensuring our clients continue to receive the responsive and professional service TDDA QLD is known for.
We recognise that a management position doesn't necessarily need to mean long working days and late Friday afternoons.
This permanent position offers:
Monday to Thursday – 7:00am to 3:00pm
Friday – 7:00am to 12:00pm
35 hours per week
$90,000 per annum + superannuation
The position is primarily based from our Eagle Farm office, providing a predictable working week while still offering a challenging, varied and responsible management role.
About the Role
As Brisbane Operations Manager, you will oversee the coordination and delivery of TDDA QLD's Brisbane operations.
You’ll work closely with our State Operations Manager, testing technicians and management team to ensure jobs are appropriately scheduled, clients are looked after, documentation and compliance requirements are maintained, and our team has the support required to operate effectively.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage entirely from behind a desk.
We are looking for someone who understands operations, enjoys dealing with people and is comfortable stepping in, solving problems and making decisions when required.
Previous drug and alcohol testing experience is not required. Full TDDA training will be provided, including training in our drug and alcohol testing procedures, systems and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the day‑to‑day operations of the Brisbane region.
Coordinating and scheduling client testing requirements and testing technicians.
Managing changing schedules and responding to operational issues as they arise.
Supporting, coordinating and communicating with our Brisbane testing team.
Maintaining strong relationships and regular communication with key clients.
Monitoring service delivery and ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service.
Managing operational emails, enquiries and internal communications.
Assisting with staff training, development and performance.
Maintaining accurate operational records, files and client information.
Assisting with TDDA's quality and compliance requirements, including NATA-related processes.
Working closely with the State Operations Manager and TDDA QLD management team.
Identifying opportunities to improve systems, efficiency and service delivery.
Assisting with drug and alcohol testing where operationally required.
Taking ownership of operational problems and working towards practical solutions.
Who We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is organised, dependable and confident managing people and competing priorities.
You don't necessarily need previous experience in the drug and alcohol testing industry. We can teach you our industry and our systems.
More important to us is your ability to manage a busy operational environment, communicate professionally with clients and staff, make sound decisions and take responsibility for getting things done.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in operations, coordination, team leadership or a similar management role.
Solid organisational and time‑management skills.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and changing schedules.
Confidence communicating with employees, clients and senior management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
A calm and practical approach to solving problems.
Sound computer skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Microsoft 365.
Confidence using cloud‑based systems, iPads and iPhones.
A willingness to learn and understand TDDA's drug and alcohol testing operations.
A strong sense of accountability and pride in the quality of your work.
A current driver's licence.
Experience within workplace health and safety, transport, construction, healthcare, pathology, compliance, logistics, rostering or another operational service environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
What TDDA QLD Can Offer You
$90,000 per annum + superannuation.
Monday–Thursday 7am–3pm.
