Job Description

We're seeking a professional, well-organised Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming first point of contact for our patients across both sites. This is a permanent part-time position — 0.4 FTE, working Tuesdays and Fridays (approximately 15 hours per week), with an immediate start available.

Key responsibilities

- Greet patients and visitors and provide a warm, professional first impression
n
- Answer and manage incoming calls, emails and enquiries
n
- Book, confirm, reschedule and manage appointments
n
- Prepare, open and close consulting rooms
n
- Accurate data entry and maintenance of patient records
n
- Manage incoming referrals and clinical correspondence
n
- Scan, file and distribute documents; type and format letters as required
n
- Process billing, receipting and payments
n
- Prepare Medicare, DVA and private health fund claims
n
- Liaise with hospitals, specialists, GPs and allied health providers
n
- Maintain stock and order office and clinical supplies
n
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times

- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

- Reliability, punctuality and discretion

- Right to work in Australia
n
- Previous medical reception or customer service experience (desirable)
n
- Familiarity with practice management software (Gentu) and Medicare/DVA billing (desirable)
n
- Understanding of medical terminology (desirable)
