Venue Manager - Moon Dog Wild West Geelong

Saddle up Gunslingers, Moon Dog Wild West is coming to Geelong! We're taking over the Geelong Hotel on Yarra Street with our Western -theme (complete with a mechanical bull!) and can't wait to provide our excellent food, beverages and service to the good people of the Geelong! Opening around the start of December (TBC) and open seven days a week, our 900 pax venue will have live music, functions, events and outstanding times for all! Giddy up!!!

Moon Dog has five large existing venues across Melbourne, and has been producing delicious beverages since 2010, including our much loved beers and Fizzer seltzer, along with RTD's and more! Moon Dog Wild West in Footscray has been an epic success which we will aim to replicate in Geelong.

We're looking for an experienced, keen and energetic Venue Manager to lead the team through the open and beyond!

As our opening VM, your first task will be to recruit and train a large team, with plenty of help from the existing Moon Dog crew. You will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer, Moon Dog Directors, People and Culture, your new Head Chef and other Moon Dog VM's and HC's to build a team and set up the venue. You will be keen to get your hands dirty and lead with positivity and a can-do attitude.

We're looking to bring our VM on around mid-to-late October (flexible). Until the doors are open the role will often be based in Footscray and Preston.

Our Venue Manager will:

Ensure every aspect of the venue's offer, service and operations are executed in order to leave a lasting positive impression on every customer.

Ensure the venue meets and exceeds Moon Dog's established standards for cleanliness, organisation, and safety.





Work with the Head Chef to create menus and service processes that meet the organisation objectives and varying demands of the venue.

Maintain budgeted blended COGS % across food and beverage

Hold team leaders accountable for executing plans, meeting targets, and fostering a positive work environment.

Monitor key financial metrics and celebrate successes in cost control and financial management.

Our ideal Venue Manager;

Has two plus years’ experience managing a hospitality venue - the bigger the better!

Takes great pride in their superb customer service and delicious beverages

Can competently run rosters, labour management, on shift ops, ordering, recruitment and reporting

Strong organisational and interpersonal skills

Has full availability weekends and nights

Excited to work with our marketing team in bringing all kinds of awesome events to life

Will be Moon Dog Geelong's biggest advocate and cheerleader, and successfully integrate Moon Dog into the Geelong community.
