Job Description

We provide specialist bookkeeping services to the legal sector, working across the major Law Society–approved practice management platforms — LEAP, Smokeball, Actionstep and Clio.

We're looking for an experienced Legal Bookkeeper to join us. Hours are flexible: the role can be structured as part-time, full-time or casual, with scope to grow as your skills and availability allow.

What you'll do

- Reconcile Statutory Trust Accounts using legal practice management software
n
- Investigate and resolve trust account discrepancies, tracing entries to their source and correcting them in line with trust accounting requirements
n
- Investigate software integration issues between practice management platforms and accounting systems (e.g. data sync errors, mismatched or missing transactions), and work to resolve them
n
- Reconcile office bank accounts and credit cards
n
- Manage payroll and superannuation
n
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS)
n
- Handle ad hoc accounting duties as they arise
n

What you'll bring

n

n
- A minimum of 3 years' bookkeeping experience
n
- Hands-on experience reconciling Statutory Trust Accounts in one or more Australian legal practice management systems
n
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve trust account discrepancies
n




- Experience troubleshooting software integration issues between legal practice management software and accounting systems
n
- Solid experience processing payroll and superannuation, including compliance with relevant obligations
n
- Solid working knowledge of both MYOB and Xero (essential)
n
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
n
- Clear, friendly communication and the ability to engage with clients professionally
