About the Role

n

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead technical and delivery management across multiple work packages on a major civil/infrastructure project in Melbourne. This is a senior, site-based role with significant autonomy, responsible for engineering quality, commercial performance and the development of a broader project engineering team, working closely with the Project Manager on overall project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall responsibility for engineering and delivery performance across multiple work packages.
n
- Lead technical problem-solving, design coordination and constructability reviews.
n
- Own subcontractor and supply chain performance across assigned scope, including negotiation of scope and variations.
n
- Drive program, cost and quality outcomes and report project performance to the Project Manager.
n
- Lead and develop Project Engineers and Site Engineers, including performance and technical mentoring.
n
- Oversee contract administration for assigned scope, including RFIs,



variations and claims.
n
- Ensure compliance with project WHS, environmental and quality management systems, and lead safety culture on site.
n
- Represent the project in client, design and stakeholder meetings as required.
n
- Contribute to project planning, staged handover strategy and lessons-learned processes.

Skills & Experience

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
n
- 8+ years' experience in civil, infrastructure or building construction, including team leadership.
n
- Demonstrated track record delivering complex work packages on major projects.
n
- Strong contract administration, commercial and negotiation skills.
n
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop engineering staff.
n
- Current Victorian driver's licence and construction industry White Card.
n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at project leadership level.
