Civil Labourer / Truck Driver – MR or HR Licence

Metroplant & Civil Services is looking for a reliable, hands‑on Civil Labourer with an MR or HR truck licence to join our team, working on civil construction and council maintenance projects across Melbourne.

This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and is willing to help wherever needed. This is a combined labouring and truck-driving role—not a driving‑only position.

About the role

You’ll work alongside our crews on projects including footpaths, kerb and channel, concrete reinstatements and general civil maintenance. Your responsibilities will include:

- General labouring, site preparation, excavation assistance and site clean‑up.

- Driving company trucks and transporting materials, tools and equipment between yards, suppliers and job sites.

- Loading, securing and unloading materials safely.

- Assisting concreters, plant operators and other crew members, including using hand tools and small equipment where trained.

- Completing daily vehicle checks,



reporting faults and following site safety procedures.

What we’re looking for

- A current MR or HR truck licence and Construction White Card are essential.

- Previous civil construction, concreting, asphalt or general construction experience is preferred.

- The ability to safely carry out physical, outdoor work.

- Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to work early starts.

- A strong safety focus, positive communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Additional plant tickets or experience operating bobcats, excavators or other construction equipment will be highly regarded, but are not essential.
