Nexsus Group 2 T/As Melbourne Wholesale is a growing Melbourne-based automotive group operating across vehicle wholesale, retail and associated automotive businesses.

With continued growth across the Group, we are seeking an experienced Dealership Accountant to join our finance team and take ownership of key accounting, reporting and reconciliation functions.

This is a hands-on role suited to an accountant who understands the pace, complexity and commercial requirements of the automotive industry. Previous automotive dealership or vehicle wholesale accounting experience is essential.

About the Role

Working closely with the CFO, senior management and the broader Accounts and Administration team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong financial controls across the business.

You will play an important role in month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial analysis and ensuring the integrity of our dealership accounting records and systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and complete monthly management accounts and month-end reporting
- Prepare Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and other financial reports
- Complete and review bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records across dealership and wholesale operations
- Review transactions, journals, accruals and financial adjustments
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Monitor financial performance and identify discrepancies or areas requiring investigation
- Support accurate vehicle stock, inventory & transaction accounting
- Work closely with management to provide meaningful financial information and reporting
- Assist with BAS, statutory reporting and other financial compliance requirements




- Support strong internal financial controls and accounting processes
- Work collaboratively with Accounts, Administration and operational teams
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial accuracy

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous accounting experience within an automotive dealership or vehicle wholesale environment - essential
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- CPA or CA qualification
- Strong experience preparing monthly accounts and management reports
- Demonstrated experience with balance sheet, bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and financial compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of financial accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment
- Strong Excel and financial systems capability
- The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders

Highly Regarded

Experience with the following will be viewed favorably:

- Eclipse Dealer Management System (DMS) - preferred but not essential
- UniPay Payroll system - preferred but not essential
- Automotive inventory and vehicle stock accounting
- Dealership management reporting
- Multi-entity or group accounting
- Vehicle floorplan or inventory finance reconciliations
