DDH1 Drilling is a leading Australian mineral exploration drilling contractor and part of the Perenti Group. With a national fleet and operations spanning head office, regional depots and remote drill sites, our IT team plays a critical role in keeping our people and operations connected.

We're looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our team in Canning Vale and provide hands‐on technical support across our office, regional locations and national drill fleet.

n

About the Role

n

This is a hands‐on, individual contributor role where you'll work closely with the IT Manager and wider IT team to provide day‐to‐day IT support, systems administration and infrastructure support.

n

You'll be involved across a broad range of technologies, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, networking, server infrastructure and cyber security, while also supporting technology across our remote drilling operations.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide responsive technical support across hardware, software, network and account issues.
n
- Support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, meeting room technology and other end‐user equipment.
n
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, device provisioning and access.
n
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, SharePoint and Exchange Online.
n
- Support network infrastructure including firewalls, switching, Wi‐Fi, VPN and remote site connectivity.
n
- Provide IT support to our drill rigs and regional depots, including remote and occasional on‐site support.
n
- Support field technology such as telematics, cameras and connectivity equipment.
n
- Assist with cyber security operations including endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability remediation and identity/access management.
n




- Monitor and triage security alerts, escalating incidents where required.
n
- Maintain IT assets, software licensing, documentation and troubleshooting procedures.
n
- Work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and improve IT processes.
n
- Travel to regional and remote sites when required.
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, practical and comfortable working independently in a fast‐paced operational environment.

n

You will have:

n

n
- 3–4 years' experience in IT Support, Systems Administration or a similar role.
n
- A qualification in IT or a relevant field will be highly regarded.
n
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+ or similar).
n
- Strong hands‐on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Windows Server and Azure fundamentals.
n
- Exposure to SIEM/NDR tooling (e.g. Darktrace) or security monitoring.
n
- Solid networking knowledge, including firewalls, switching, Wi‐Fi, VPN and remote connectivity.
n
- An understanding of cyber security fundamentals including endpoint protection, patching and identity/access management.
n
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills.
n
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues in plain language.
n
- Willingness to travel to regional and remote sites.
n
- Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency.
n

Experience supporting a distributed or field‐based workforce, particularly within mining, drilling, construction or a similar industry, will be highly regarded.
