About the Role

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within our Inpatient Mental Health Service, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care to patients experiencing acute and ongoing mental health conditions. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake mental health assessments, contribute to care planning, provide therapeutic interventions, manage clinical risk and support patients throughout their recovery journey. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, allied health professionals, families and carers to ensure safe, person-centred care within a therapeutic inpatient environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a dynamic and supportive clinical setting committed to excellence in mental health care.

Successful candidates will be expected to work a range of shifts, including weekdays, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Essential





- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (or Registered Nurse with mental health endorsement/experience)
- Demonstrated experience, skill and/or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people who have experienced mental illness
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Recovery-based principles
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including use of Excel, Word and client management systems
- Working knowledge of the relevant Mental Health Act and associated regulatory frameworks

Desirable:

- Experience managing complex presentations, including behavioural disturbance, suicidality and co-occurring conditions.
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or related field.
- Experience in inpatient psychiatric units, acute mental health services or psychiatric intensive care environments.
- Knowledge of Safewards, trauma-informed practice and recovery-focused models of care.
