We're looking for a Project Engineer - Circuit & Civilto lead planning, procurement support, delivery, maintenance, compliance, operational readiness and deconstruction of all circuit infrastructure, roadworks, civil works and associated motorsport assets required for iEDM's Gold Coast-based motorsport events, with primary focus on the Gold Coast 500 and Townsville 500, plus other events as required.

As a key member of the Engineering Project Management team you will manage circuit and civil contractors, coordinate road closures and reopening programs, support stakeholder and authority approvals, contribute to risk management, assist project controls and change management, and ensure the circuit is delivered in accordance with licencing, engineering, safety and operational requirements.

The role provides leadership through planning, construction, event operations, deconstruction and debrief, and acts as the primary Circuit & Civil representative within Race Control during event operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, installation, maintenance and removal of all circuit infrastructure — barriers, debris and safety fencing, kerbing, marshal access, signage, circuit furniture and race control infrastructure.
- Manage build and bump-out against approved construction schedules.
- Ensure circuit readiness for inspection, licensing, certification and operational handover.
- Maintain circuit asset registers and identify annual
- Ensure compliance with Supercars, Motorsport Australia and FIA circuit standards.
- Manage all civil construction associated with event delivery — asphalt repairs, temporary road modifications,
- drainage, earthworks, utility protection, hardstand and access roads.
- Review engineering drawings, methodologies and technical specifications.
- Implement quality assurance and compliance processes throughout delivery.
- Coordinate restoration and reinstatement of public assets and park lands post-event.





Planning & Programming

- Support the Construction Manager in developing and implementing detailed construction programs.
- Develop and manage circuit installation and removal schedules.
- Monitor progress against milestones, identify schedule risks and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to monthly reporting, project reviews and annual planning and budgeting.

Contractors, Procurement & Change

- Develop technical scopes of work and contractor specifications; support procurement and tender evaluation.
- Manage contractor performance, site meetings, inspections and progress reviews.
- Verify works, quantities and completion status for contract administration.
- Assess Variation Orders affecting circuit, road and civil infrastructure, and review impacts on safety, cost,
- program and operations.
- Coordinate implementation of approved changes and identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.

Traffic Management & Road Occupation

- Coordinate road closure and reopening activities associated with the event circuit.
- Review Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes; liaise with road authorities on permits and approvals.
- Ensure contractor compliance with approved traffic management requirements.
- Minimise impacts to public access, pedestrian and cycling movements throughout all phases.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

- Ensure circuit works comply with legislative obligations, regulations and standards.
- Identify, assess and manage infrastructure risks; participate in project risk reviews.
- Review SWMS, permits and contractor compliance documentation; assist with incident investigations.
- Implement Inspection and Test Plans, coordinate verification activities and maintain certification records.

Design, Engineering & Stakeholders

- Coordinate with civil, structural and services engineers through design development and implementation.
- Participate in design review, constructability and Safety in Design workshops.
- Ensure infrastructure is constructed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Support approvals and permits, provide technical advice and attend stakeholder coordination meetings.

Event Operations





- Act as the nominated EPM Circuit & Civil representative within Race Control.
- Monitor circuit condition and operational readiness throughout the event.
- Coordinate rapid response teams and contractor responses to faults, incidents and emergency repairs.
- Liaise with Supercars officials, race control, emergency services and event management teams.

Deconstruction & Improvement

- Lead removal of circuit and civil infrastructure and coordinate handback of roads, park lands and public
- assets.
- Participate in contractor and stakeholder debriefs and review infrastructure performance.
- Develop recommendations to improve circuit delivery, safety and traffic management, and reduce occupation periods.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications & Experience

- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the civil or construction sector, motorsport operations, major event infrastructure, transport infrastructure or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex civil, construction and infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing contractors and high-risk construction activities.
- Experience working within live operational environments.
- Proven understanding of project controls, budgeting, programming and risk management.
- Experience with roadworks and traffic management operations.
