Senior Tax Consultant: Manager - Assoc. Director (public practice)

Working with successful privately owned businesses, family groups and high-net-worth clients, you'll become a trusted adviser influencing key business, tax and growth decisions. This role gives you the opportunity to work with ambitious business owners, providing strategic tax, advisory and commercial guidance to private businesses with annual turnovers typically between $10 million and $100 million.

Key responsibilities

n

Managing a portfolio of privately owned businesses, family groups and high-net-worth clients

n

Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, company, trust and individual income tax returns across a diverse portfolio of private clients.

n

Oversee the timely preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS, FBT and income tax compliance obligations, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to ATO deadlines.

n

Manage complex compliance engagements across companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and multi-entity family groups.

n

Providing proactive taxation, business advisory and strategic planning advice

n

Assisting clients with business growth, succession planning, restructuring and wealth creation strategies

n

Leading annual tax planning engagements and identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes

n

Managing ATO correspondence, reviews, audits and technical tax matters

n

Building trusted relationships with business owners and key decision-makers

n

Leading, mentoring and developing accountants across the team

n

Managing workflow, WIP, budgets and client deliverables

n

Supporting practice growth through client referrals, service expansion and business development initiatives

About you

n

CA or CPA qualified





n

Experienced Senior Accountants and early Managers with 4+ years' Australian Public Practice experience through to Senior Managers and Associate Directors with 8+ years' experience

n

Experience in Business Services, Taxation and Advisory

n

Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge across private businesses and family groups

n

Proven experience compiling and reviewing complex financial statements, income tax returns, trust structures and multi-entity groups

n

Deep technical knowledge across business structuring, Division 7A, trust taxation, CGT concessions and succession planning

n

Experience managing ATO audits, reviews, private rulings and complex tax matters

n

Ability to provide high-value advisory services including tax planning, strategic business advice, cash flow forecasting and growth strategies

n

Proven leadership, mentoring and team development skills

n

Comfortable leveraging technology, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and client outcomes.

Salary package of $130,000 - $170,000 + Super
