About the Role

Hofmann Engineering is seeking a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant to support our Surface Treatment team. This role is critical to the smooth operation of our new production line, assisting across blasting, painting, and bonding processes for advanced components used in major Australian projects of national importance.

Key Responsibilities

- Unloading and storing incoming raw materials safely and efficiently
- Guiding powered trolley’s to move materials to and from processing areas
- Preparing test coupons and components for painting processes
- Cleaning and maintaining blasting areas, including sweeping garnet from blast chambers and maintenance of equipment
- Washing components in the wash bay to required standards
- Assisting with packing and preparation of finished goods
- Assisting with applying bonding agents to prepared surfaces as directed
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment

- Strong work ethic and reliability
- High attention to detail and willingness to follow procedures
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team

Skills & Experience (Preferred)

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment
- Experience working around blasting, painting, or surface treatment processes
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic understanding of safe material handling practices
