About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Hebrew/Jewish Studies lessons in the Middle School and provide Hebrew & Jewish studies support in the Primary school. This is a part-time role made up of 0.40 FTE teaching and 0.2 FTE support. Applications from candidates from any stream of Judaism are warmly encouraged to apply with a preference for teachers who are native Hebrew speakers.

This is a part time position, commencing Term 1, 2027.

Duties and Responsibilities





Develop and deliver innovative and engaging Hebrew and Jewish Studies lessons for Middle School students.

Cater for individual learning needs within the classroom

Work collaboratively with the Hebrew and Jewish Studies staff to deliver curriculum

Assess, evaluate and report on student progress

Ensure smooth handover with teacher on leave prior to commencement and on conclusion

Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy and the qualities of life-long learning

Contribute to the broader Jewish life of the College through involvement in festivals, special events and informal-education programs

Create a culture of learning within the classroom

Skills and Experience

Experience in Hebrew Support highly preferable.

Outstanding ability to communicate and inspire.

Demonstrated contribution to Jewish life.

Fluent in Hebrew (spoken and written).

An understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and different teaching methodologies
