An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Cartage Coordinator to join a well-established, Australian-owned international logistics company based in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs.
Reporting to, and working closely with the Cartage Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating the efficient movement and delivery of cargo across our air and sea freight operations. Full training and support will be provided to ensure you have the knowledge and resources to succeed in the role.
Contract Duration: 12 months
Key Skills
- Previous experience in international freight forwarding, cartage or transport coordination.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A positive, “can-do” attitude and willingness to take ownership of your responsibilities.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring the customs clearance status of cargo and ensuring shipments progress in a timely manner.
- Coordinating Quarantine inspections and associated requirements.
- Liaising with shipping lines, airlines and terminal operators across air and sea freight.
- Working closely with transport providers to arrange delivery time slots and coordinate delivery requirements with customers.
- Planning and arranging empty container collections within required timeframes.
- Booking and coordinating Air and LCL deliveries with transport companies and customers.
- Managing and facilitating special deliveries and customer requirements.
- Raising invoices for shipments, including adding accruals.
- Raising disbursement invoices for shipments.
- Following up with customers regarding payment of COD invoices.
