Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Content & Design Editor for a contract opportunity with a Federal Government client based in Sydney.
n This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong editing, legal, policy, or regulatory background who enjoys transforming complex information into clear, accessible, and user-friendly content. You will play a key role in reviewing, editing, formatting, and publishing critical operational documentation while improving accessibility, consistency, and user experience.
n Location: Sydney, NSW

n About the Role As a Content & Design Editor, you will support a major content review and improvement project focused on enhancing the accessibility, accuracy, consistency, and usability of operational and policy documentation.
n Working closely with legal, policy, and business stakeholders, you will review, edit, format, publish, and maintain complex content across multiple platforms while ensuring alignment with organisational style standards and best-practice content design principles.
n This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong document management skills, and the ability to confidently work with legal and policy content.
n Key Responsibilities

- Edit, review, and update operational, policy, and legal documentation.
n
- Apply organisational style guides and content standards to ensure consistency across all publications.
n
- Improve content accessibility, usability, readability, and navigation.
n
- Review and manage links, references, document structures, and formatting requirements.
n
- Support content migration, publication, and maintenance activities.
n
- Assist with major document reviews, updates, and content refresh initiatives.
n
- Test and validate content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and quality standards are met.
n
- Maintain content across intranet, SharePoint, and other digital platforms.
n
- Work closely with legal, policy,



and business stakeholders to ensure content remains current and fit for purpose.
n
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements relating to content management and publishing.
n

About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
n

- Significant experience in editing, content development, document management, legal publishing, or policy writing.
n
- Experience working with legal, regulatory, compliance, government, or policy-related documentation.
n
- Exceptional editing, proofreading, drafting, and document design skills.
n
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
n
- Ability to interpret complex information and convert it into clear, user-friendly content.
n
- Experience managing content updates across digital platforms and publishing environments.
n
- Solid organisational and project coordination skills.
n
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
n
- Confidence engaging and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders.
n

Highly Desirable n

n
- Background in law, legal services, public policy, compliance, regulation, or related disciplines.
n
- Experience working with style guides, publishing standards, and accessibility requirements.
n
- Knowledge of SharePoint and content management systems.
n
- Experience improving content navigation, information architecture, and user experience.
n
- Experience supporting large-scale document review or remediation projects.
