We are looking for an experienced Manager HR to join a small and specialised HR team within a Victorian Government organisation.

This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact. You will lead the HR function, provide advice to senior leaders and help build and improve HR processes, policies and systems.

The role has a broad remit across HR, including recruitment, OHS, HR governance, workforce reporting and a range of priority HR projects.

You will be working closely with the leadership team and key stakeholders across the organisation, as well as the broader Department of Education HR environment.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and support a small HR team.
- Provide advice and guidance to senior leaders on HR matters.
- Oversee recruitment and workforce activities.
- Manage and progress key HR projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, processes and governance.
- Lead the organisation's OHS framework and related initiatives.
- Monitor HR reporting, workforce data and position information.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the employee experience.




- Build strong working relationships across the organisation and with external government stakeholders.
- Support the organisation to meet its HR responsibilities and workforce priorities.

About You:

You will be an experienced HR professional who is confident working with senior stakeholders and comfortable taking ownership of a broad range of HR matters.

You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in a senior HR advisory or HR management role.
- Strong knowledge across HR operations, recruitment, policies and governance.
- Experience with OHS and workplace health and safety frameworks.
- The confidence to provide advice to senior leaders and management.
- Experience leading or mentoring a small HR team.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work across a range of HR projects.
- A practical and collaborative approach, with a focus on getting things done and improving processes.
- Government or experience working in a regulated environment will be highly regarded.
