Our client has a national remit to licence and ensure technical compliance, qualifications and training of industry stakeholders and licence holders in the climate control sector. This is carried out under contract to the National Workplace and Protection Authority.

About the role

As General Manager of Compliance, Technical and Training you will oversee and direct the operations of Field Engagement and Compliance personnel to upskill industry stakeholders and licence holders to meet community safety standards and legal requirements for handling and trading refrigerants.

Your focus will be leading a geographically dispersed team of Field Engagement Officers and a Compliance team with the remit of ensuring the organisation meets its responsibilities under the services contract. This also involes shaping the skills outcomes of the industry though innovation and advocacy for changes to regulations and standards which deliver a stronger RAC sector.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead and manage the operations of Field Engagement and Compliance personnel

Upskill industry stakeholders and licence holders to meet community safety standards and legal requirements for handling and trading refrigerants

Shape the industry wide skills outcomes through innovation and advocacy for changes to regulations and standards

Industry liaison and stakeholder engagement to shape necessary change in the training sector and RTO outcomes

Ensure the organisation meets its responsibilities under the services contract,



reporting on KPI's and providing insights and considered responses on trends

Represent the organisation at industry events

Contribute strategically as a member of the senior leadership team.

About you

You will offer:

Demonstrated track record in applying regulatory standards, leading a compliance and auditing function at an industry wide leadership level

Sound knowledge of the vocational education training sector, RTOs and proven ability in align learning outcomes on a national scale

Exceptional leadership and management skills which inspires team members to high performance whilst adhering and working under a service contract

Advanced skills in regular reporting on performance data against extensive contractual obligations

Proven ability in communications skills which build rapport, convey ideas clearly, and advanced written skills suited to technical reporting using facts and quantitative data

A relevant tertiary qualification including a Cert IV in Compliance/Training and Assessment/Investigations (Government).

Desirable skills and experience include:

Leading and managing an audit function that goes beyond quality assurance in its complexity

Senior level experience within a licencing function that is shaped by Acts, REgulations, Standards and Codes.

Familiarity with the RAC sector
