About Us

Western Private Hospital, located in Footscray, is a 62-bed private acute hospital and is the longest serving private hospital in Melbourne’s west providing much needed services to the people in the expanding North West and Western regions of Melbourne and surrounding areas.

WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Procedure Unit, Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Day Oncology Unit, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine/PET Centre and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.

We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, IVF, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.

About the Roles

Western Private Hospital is seeking dedicated Acute Surgical and Critical Care RNs to join our combined services ward. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centred care across a diverse mix of elective surgical, cardiac, and medical patients in both day and overnight settings.

Casual employment with flexible shift options available across AM, PM, Nights and Weekends to suit your lifestyle.

Selection Criteria

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Division 1





Acute Surgical RNs – proven experience providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to patients across various surgical specialties

Critical Care RNs – minimum 3 years' experience working in Coronary Care, Cardiology or HDU; a Postgraduate Certificate in Critical Care and current ALS certification; good rhythm interpretation skills and a sound understanding of the care of the cardiac patient

Ability to work responsively in an ever-changing and fast paced environment

Exceptional communication skills to be able to work collaboratively and consult with doctors

Demonstrated commitment to patient centred care with a strong focus on providing safe & compassionate clinical care to achieve best practice patient outcomes

Requirements:

Everyone who joins Western Private Hospital –

Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months, a current Working With Children Check and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights such as Australian passport, birth certificate, citizenship or VEVO/Visa Grant Details (No Sponsorship available)

Must have yearly Influenzavaccination (subject to reasonable exemptions per WPH policy) and provideproof of immunisationagainst, or immunity to, infectious diseases as required per the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic) – NOTE: for this role immunisation requirements associated with Risk Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
