Weathertex is seeking a reliable and experienced Logyard Operator to join our manufacturing team in the Hunter Region.

n

This is a full-time permanent position suited to an experienced plant operator who is confident operating excavators, front-end loaders and forklifts and enjoys working in a hands‐on team environment.

About the Role

n

As a Logyard Operator, you will play an significant role in supporting Weathertex's manufacturing operations by safely operating mobile and fixed plant within our logyard.

n

This is a hands‐on role requiring experience with heavy mobile plant, good situational awareness and a strong commitment to safe work practices.

n

- Operating excavators, front-end loaders and forklifts
n
- Operating fixed plant and equipment
n
- Safely moving, loading and handling logs and materials within the logyard
n
- Carrying out pre‐start inspections and routine equipment checks
n
- Monitoring plant and equipment during operation
n
- Undertaking basic plant maintenance where required
n
- Identifying and reporting plant faults, hazards and maintenance requirements
n
- General housekeeping and maintaining a clean and organised work area
n
- Following safe work procedures and operating instructions
n
- Working collaboratively with the team to support production requirements
n

To be successful in this role, you must have:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience operating excavators
n




- Demonstrated experience operating front‐end loaders
n
- A current Forklift Licence (LF) with demonstrated operating experience
n
- Experience working safely around mobile plant and machinery
n
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
n
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
n
- The ability to follow procedures and work instructions
n
- Good communication and attention to detail
n
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive work ethic
n

- Experience operating fixed plant and equipment
n
- Experience carrying out basic plant maintenance
n
- The ability to identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical or plant issues
n
- Previous experience working in a logyard, timber, manufacturing, industrial or similar environment
n

You take pride in looking after the equipment you operate, understand the importance of completing pre-start checks and are confident identifying when something doesn't look or sound right.

Most importantly, you understand that safety is a priority when working around heavy mobile plant and will follow procedures, communicate with your team and operate equipment responsibly.
