This is an opportunity for an accomplished Principal Civil Engineer to lead the design capability of a growing, construction‐led engineering consultancy.

Working directly with the Managing Director, you'll become a trusted technical counterpart; personally developing, reviewing and certifying complex civil and temporary works designs while building the systems, standards and team required for future growth.

n

It's an ideal role for an ambitious Senior Engineer who wants to remain technically hands‐on while progressing toward broader leadership and potential partnership.

The role

n

You'll take ownership of:

n

n
- Complex civil and temporary works design, review and certification
n
- Constructability, construction methodology and technical risk
n
- Projects involving excavations, staging, live services and high‐risk works
n
- Engineering assurance, QA and technical governance
n
- Direct engagement with contractors, clients and authorities
n
- Developing design systems and standards
n
- Mentoring and building the future engineering team
n
- Improving engineering delivery through technology, AI and automation
n

About you

n

You'll bring:

n

n
- Civil Engineering qualifications
n




- RPEQ registration, or the ability to obtain it
n
- Solid civil and temporary and/or permanent works design capability
n
- Experience delivering practical solutions in complex construction environments
n
- Tier 1 or 2 contractor experience, or equivalent construction‐focused design experience
n
- The ability to personally develop, review and certify engineering designs
n
- Strong commercial judgement and confidence working autonomously
n
- The capability to lead, mentor and build a technical team
n

You'll be equally comfortable developing a complex design and working alongside contractors to determine how it can be safely and practically built.
