Piccolina Gelateria is an artisan gelateria renowned for producing exceptional gelato using authentic Italian techniques and premium ingredients. With a growing network of retail stores and wholesale customers across Melbourne, we're looking for a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Full-Time Kitchen Hand to join our team.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Hand, you'll play an important role in supporting our production and kitchen team at our Mount Waverley facility.

You'll assist with food preparation, gelato production, cleaning, washing up, packing, and general kitchen duties to help ensure our production runs smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and product quality.

The role requires morning starts, with shifts typically commencing between 7:00 am and 9:00 am, depending on production requirements. Availability to workweekends as part of a rotating roster is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation and production of gelato and related products.
- Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients according to production requirements.
- Assist production staff with general kitchen duties.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen and production environment.
- Assist with packing and labelling finished products.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Assist with receiving,



storing, and organising ingredients and supplies.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure daily production targets are met.

About You

- Is reliable, punctual, and takes pride in their work.

- Is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Has good attention to detail and follows instructions carefully.
- Maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Is physically fit and comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting/moving boxes and ingredients.
- Is flexible and available for morning starts and weekend work.
- Is willing to learn and take on new tasks.

Skills & Experience

- Previous kitchen hand, food production, hospitality, or warehouse experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- Food handling or food safety experience is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently and follow production procedures.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work independently when required as well as part of a team.
- Full Australian working rights.
