The prospect

The City of Mandurah is seeking an enthusiastic and motivatedMuseum Project Officer to join our Heritage and Community Capacityteam for a three-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we progress a rangeof significant museum and heritage initiatives, includingexhibition development, collection management projects, publicengagement activities and preparations for future museum projectsThis role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to thepreservation and sharing of Mandurah's rich history while helpingdeliver projects that connect our community with the stories thatshape our city.
Working within a small and passionate team, you will support theplanning and delivery of museum projects, assist with exhibitionand collection activities, contribute to visitor experiences andhelp ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the MandurahMuseum.
What you'll Be doing
- Supporting the delivery of key museum and heritageprojects.
- Assisting with exhibition development, installation andinterpretation.
- Undertaking collection management, documentation andresearch activities.
- Coordinating project administration, procurement andstakeholder engagement.
- Supporting museum events,
programs and community engagementinitiatives.
- Opening and securing the Museum in accordance withestablished procedures.
- Providing exceptional customer service to visitors andcommunity members.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience coordinating or delivering projects.
- Experience working within a museum, heritage, arts,cultural or community setting (preferred).
- Strong organisational and administration skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributingeffectively as part of a team.
- A current driver's licence, National Police Clearance andWorking with Children Check.
