About the Role
As our Part-Time Cook, you will work alongside our Chef and Kitchen Hand to:
- Support with daily food preparation and cooking.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day.
- Cater to a range of dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances.
- Follow safe food handling, hygiene and food safety practices.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen.
- Assist with menu preparation and meal planning.
- Ensure meals are prepared safely and appropriately for different age groups.
- Communicate effectively with educators and management regarding dietary requirements.
- Contribute to creating positive and enjoyable mealtimes for our children.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for cooking and preparing nutritious meals.
- Has knowledge and understanding of safe food handling and food safety practices.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Works well as part of a supportive team.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Knowledge of food safety and protected food handling practices.
- Ability to cater for a variety of allergies and dietary requirements.
- Current Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one.
- Holds current Geccko Child Safety certifications, or willing to obtain.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of our team.
