Kuubiik is partnering with an established professional-services firm in Melbourne to appoint a technically strong Tax Consulting Manager within its growing tax advisory team.

This opportunity is suited to an Australian tax professional who enjoys technical problem-solving, working directly with clients and developing other accountants. It will appeal to someone looking to move beyond compliance-led work into complex tax advisory, structuring and legislative research.

The opportunity

You will work across a broad range of technically challenging Australian tax matters, providing practical advice to clients and internal stakeholders.

The role combines technical research, tax structuring, client advisory and engagement delivery with responsibility for reviewing work, mentoring team members and contributing to the team’s technical capability.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver technical Australian tax advice across complex client matters.
- Research and interpret legislation, ATO guidance, rulings and emerging tax developments.
- Prepare and review tax advice, technical memoranda, opinions and recommendations.
- Advise on tax structuring, corporate tax, transaction-related matters and tax-risk issues.
- Work directly with clients to understand issues and provide commercially practical solutions.
- Manage tax advisory engagements from initial scoping through to delivery.
- Identify tax risks, opportunities and planning considerations.
- Review work prepared by junior and senior team members.
- Mentor and support team members in developing their technical knowledge.
- Contribute to internal technical training and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with other service lines where specialist tax input is required.

About you





- Approximately six or more years of Australian tax experience.
- Strong technical Australian tax knowledge, including legislative research and interpretation.
- Experience gained in Tax Consulting, Tax Advisory, Corporate Tax, International Tax or a technically focused in-house tax role.
- Exposure to complex advisory, tax structuring, transaction-related tax matters or corporate tax issues.
- Confidence working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Experience reviewing work, supervising others or supporting the development of junior team members.
- CA, CPA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
- A Master of Taxation, Master of Laws (Tax) or similar postgraduate tax qualification will be highly regarded.
- Experience within a Big Four or established mid-tier Tax Consulting or Tax Advisory team is strongly preferred.
- Full Australian working rights.

This is a technical advisory role rather than a position focused solely on routine tax compliance. Candidates

with genuine complex tax, corporate tax or advisory exposure will be particularly well suited.
