Support Worker/Nursing or Allied Health Student

The successful applicant will be part of a team of 15 people looking after a client with complex physical needs in a modern, well-equipped home. We operate 24/7 on an array of Morning, Afternoon and Night Shifts (must be available to work across all shift types). The successful applicant will be able to work successfully within a pair, sometimes autonomously, and within a larger team, reporting to the Care Manager.

Key responsibilities

- Personal nursing care and attending to ADLs
n
- Accurate daily reporting and assisting with updated care plans
n
- Representing the client in appointments and discussions with other health professionals
n
- Medication administration via PEG tube
n
- Manual handling (hoist, pat slide for transfers)
n
- Supporting nutrition and hydration (meal prep assistance)
n
- Advocating for the client and providing companionship
n
- Driving client to/from appointments and outings (music gigs, beach, etc.)
n
- Assisting with Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy
n




- Light housekeeping for the client and hygiene purposes
n

About you

n

n
- Student Nurses/Medical/ Allied Health fields are especially valued
n
- Previous experience working with clients with a disability is preferred but not essential
n
- Current First Aid/CPR training preferred
n
- Driver's licence is essential
n
- Must be available for all shift types
n
- Full Award penalty rates paid for Afternoon Shift, Night Shift, Weekends and Public Holidays
n
