Cloud Migration Engineer - AWS/Azure & Wintel

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Cloud Migration Engineer to deliver and support the migration of VMware-based workloads into AWS and Microsoft Azure environments. The successful candidate will have strong Wintel/Windows Server expertise, hands-on AWS and Azure experience, infrastructure automation capabilities, IaC knowledge, and proven experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud migration programs.

Key Technical Requirements

Windows Server & Microsoft Technologies

- Extensive experience with Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025

- Microsoft Active Directory (AD)

- DNS and DHCP administration

- Group Policy (GPO) management

- PowerShell scripting and automation

- Microsoft Entra ID

AWS Cloud

Hands-on experience with:

- Amazon EC2

- IAM

- VPC

- Route 53

- CloudWatch

- Systems Manager (SSM)

- Amazon FSx

- AWS Application Migration Service (MGN)

- Amazon RDS

- Amazon S3

- EBS

- Security Groups

Microsoft Azure

Experience with:

- Azure Virtual Machines

- Azure Migrate

- Azure Site Recovery (ASR)

- Azure Backup

- Azure Monitor

- Microsoft Entra ID

Automation, DevOps & IaC

- Terraform

- AWS CloudFormation

- Git

- CI/CD pipeline development and integration

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC )

- Automated and scripted infrastructure deployment

- PowerShell and other scripting-based automation

Cloud Migration Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated experience with enterprise VMware-to-cloud migration initiatives, including:

- VMware vSphere and vCenter administration

- VMware workload migrations to AWS

- VMware workload migrations to Azure

- Server and application discovery and assessment

- Migration strategy, planning,



and target architecture

- Migration execution, testing, and technical validation

- Production cutover activities

- Post-migration monitoring, troubleshooting, and support

Candidate Validation

Please provide details of relevant experience covering the following areas:

VMware-to-Cloud Projects

Provide three relevant migration projects , outlining:

- Scope and scale of the migration

- VMware, AWS and/or Azure technologies involved

- Migration approach and tools used

- Your specific responsibilities and contributions

- Testing, cutover, and post-migration activities

AWS Automation & Infrastructure as Code

Provide examples of AWS environments you have designed or implemented using:

- Terraform

- AWS CloudFormation

- Scripted or automated deployment approaches

Include examples demonstrating your use of IaC, automation, and CI/CD where applicable.

Windows Server

Detail your hands-on experience supporting Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and/or 2025 , including relevant administration, troubleshooting, automation, and migration activities.

AWS Services

Please describe your practical experience with:

- EC2

- VPC

- IAM

- S3

- EBS

- RDS

- FSx

- Systems Manager (SSM)

- CloudWatch

- AWS Application Migration Service (MGN)

Relevant Certifications

Please provide details of any relevant AWS, Azure, VMware, Microsoft, Terraform, or cloud infrastructure certifications held.

Preferred Certifications

The following certifications are desirable:

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Qualified

- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
