Remuneration: Band 6 salary from 104,133.36 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

Location: Werribee based with potential for a hybrid work arrangement

About the role

As a member of the Health and Safety team within People and Capability, the Health and Safety Partner plays an important role in supporting a secure, healthy and resilient workplace across Wyndham City Council. Working closely with leaders, employees and stakeholders across the organisation, you will help promote a positive safety culture while supporting the delivery of Council's Health and Safety Management System.

Reporting to the Team Leader Health and Safety, you will provide specialist advice, guidance and support on a broad range of workplace health and safety matters. This role contributes to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of Council's health and safety framework and supports the delivery of key initiatives including audits, investigations, training programs, hazard management and risk mitigation activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, influencing positive safety outcomes and working in a diverse operational environment. Utilising your expertise in health and safety legislation, risk management and stakeholder engagement, you will help build capability across the organisation and support safe work practices for our people.

What your day will look like

- Providing practical health and safety advice and support to leaders and employees across the organisation.
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Council's Health and Safety Management System.
- Conducting workplace inspections, ergonomic assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments.




- Assisting with health and safety audits, reporting, training programs and corrective action initiatives.
- Monitoring hazard and incident reporting processes and partnering with stakeholders to drive positive safety outcomes.

What you will bring

- Qualifications in Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working in a health and safety role within a complex organisation.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, standards and best practice.
- Experience undertaking workplace inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and build positive working relationships across all levels of an organisation.
