Job Description

Growthpoint Properties Australia is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join its Melbourne-based finance team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for ensuring tenant receipts are allocated accurately and promptly, tenant accounts are maintained correctly, and overdue balances and payment queries are followed up in a timely manner. You'll also work closely with stakeholders across the business to strengthen controls, streamline processes and improve the efficiency of accounts receivable activities.

The prospect

Reporting to the Operational Controller, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the finance function, with responsibility spanning cash allocation, reconciliations, arrears management, reporting and month-end activities. Beyond the day-to-day, Growthpoint is looking for someone who is proactive and improvement-focused. You'll have the opportunity to identify recurring issues, challenge existing processes constructively and contribute to systems, reporting and process improvements.

Your work will include

n

n
- accurately allocating bank receipts and other payments to the correct invoices, tenant accounts and properties
n
- reconciling daily receipts across bank accounts, the property management system and general ledger
n
- investigating unidentified or unapplied cash and processing tenant refunds and account adjustments
n
- monitoring aged receivables and working with the Property team to follow up overdue balances
n
- maintaining accurate tenant ledgers and investigating account discrepancies
n
- responding professionally to tenant enquiries and helping resolve billing disputes
n




- preparing daily cash collection reporting and regular aged receivables analysis
n
- completing month-end accounts receivable reconciliations
n
- maintaining accurate supporting documentation for audit and control purposes
n
- identifying opportunities to simplify or automate processes and supporting agreed systems and reporting improvements.

What you'll bring

n

You'll ideally have 1–3 years' experience in accounts receivable, preferably within real estate or property management, and be comfortable working in an environment where accuracy and deadlines matter.

You'll also bring:

- strong attention to detail, particularly when working with high-volume payments
n
- experience with property management software, with Yardi highly desirable
n
- strong Microsoft Excel skills and an interest in automation and reporting improvementclear, professional written and verbal communication skills
n
- the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict daily banking and month-end deadlines
n
- a proactive and curious approach, with the confidence to identify and constructively challenge inefficient processes
n
- the ability to build effective working relationships with finance, property, lease administration and other internal stakeholders.
