Labourer / Road Worker – Traffic Signals

Location: Russell Vale Depot, NSW
n Pay Rate: $45.45 per hour + super
n Contract: 3 months, with potential extension
n Start: ASAP
n Roster: 9-day fortnight
n Shift: Predominantly night shift – Sunday to Thursday, 6:00pm–2:30am

n

APG Workforce is seeking an experienced Labourer / Road Worker to join a traffic signals construction team based from Russell Vale Depot.

n

This hands-on role will support the installation, maintenance and upgrade of traffic signal infrastructure. We are particularly interested in candidates with concreting and formwork experience, with previous experience constructing kerbs, ramps and footpaths highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Assist with installation of traffic signal poles, pits, conduits, cables and associated infrastructure
n
- Undertake excavation, trenching, backfilling, concreting and reinstatement works
n
- Complete formwork and concrete works as required
n
- Assist with cable hauling, pit installation and commissioning activities
n
- Operate hand tools, power tools and small plant equipment
n
- Load, unload and transport materials, tools and equipment
n
- Assist maintenance crews with fault repairs, inspections and emergency response activities
n
- Maintain a safe and tidy work setting
n
- Follow WHS requirements, procedures and relevant safety standards
n




- Support supervisors and tradespeople to meet project deadlines and quality requirements
n

About You To be successful, you will ideally have:

n

n
- Previous civil construction, road construction or traffic infrastructure experience
n
- Concreting and formwork experience
n
- Experience constructing kerbs, ramps and footpaths highly desirable
n
- Experience using hand and power tools
n
- Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work
n
- Solid understanding of WHS requirements
n
- Ability to work effectively within a team
n
- Willingness and availability to work predominantly night shift
n

Desirable Tickets & Qualifications

n

n
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
n
- MR or HR Driver's Licence
n
- Traffic Control or Traffic Management qualifications
n
- Plant tickets such as excavator, skid steer or EWP
n
- First Aid Certificate
n
- Experience working around live traffic environments
n

n

Hours & Travel

n

The role will predominantly operate Sunday to Thursday, 6:00pm–2:30am, with day shift hours of 6:30am–3:30pm where required. The roster operates on a 9-day fortnight.

n

Living away from home may occasionally be required, generally no longer than one week at a time, approximately every 6 weeks to 2 months.

n

Required PPE: Safety boots, reflective pants and long-sleeve hi-vis reflective shirt.

n

If you have solid civil construction and concreting experience and are comfortable working night shift, for an ASAP start.
