Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander School-Based Traineeships with the NSW Government

Are you currently in Year 10 and moving into Year 11 in 2027?Want to earn money, gain real workplace experience and complete a nationally recognised qualification while you're still at school?This could be your opportunity to get a head start on your future.Why Apply?As a School-Based Trainee, you'll spend one day a week working with the NSW Government while continuing your studies at school.Over two years you'll:

- Complete a Certificate III in Business that may contribute towards your HSC

- Strengthen your résumé before leaving school

About the OpportunityAre you looking to gain real work experience while you finish school? What You'll Do

- Help organise meetings and send out invites.
- Help create meeting agendas so everyone knows what will be discussed.
- Take notes and help keep track of important information from meetings.
- Do online research to find information and learn about what other organisations are doing.
- Help the team stay up to date with new ideas, programs and projects.
- Assist with general administration tasks and keeping information organised.
- Use workplace systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Work with a supportive team and learn about delivering programs and projects.

What You'll Learn

- Research and information-gathering skills.
- Administration and office skills.
- How programs and projects are managed in the workplace.
- Communication, teamwork and professional workplace skills.

No previous work experience is required.You'll be supported every step of the way through:

- Parramatta

These traineeships are funded through the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant, which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to access employment and career development opportunities within the NSW Public Sector.
