Role Description This is a full time, on-site Accountant role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and maintenance of general ledgers for a range of clients.

The role includes preparing and lodging tax returns and BAS, supporting compliance for individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs, and assisting with tax planning. The Accountant will collaborate with the advisory team to analyze financial data, identify opportunities for business improvement, and support clients with budgeting, cash flow management, and profitability reporting.



The position also involves communicating regularly with clients, responding to queries, ensuring accurate documentation, and contributing to process improvements and quality control within the firm.

Qualifications

- Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of Australian taxation laws and regulations, with experience preparing tax returns, BAS, and compliance reports for various entity types.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar) and solid Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
- Ability to interpret financial data, support business advisory work, and assist clients with budgeting, cash flow, and performance analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple client files and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach and the ability to explain financial and tax concepts in accessible terms.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; progress toward or completion of CPA/CA accreditation is highly regarded.
- Experience in public practice or business advisory environments is advantageous, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
