Accounts Assistant – Hector's Deli

Office-based, South Melbourne (moving to St Kilda Road, November/December 2026) | Casual | Around 10–15 hours per week | $36.81–$40.84/hr super, depending on experience

Hector's Deli is a hospitality group with eight sites and dedicated production teams, and we're growing. We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to help keep our back office accurate, on time and under control.

The role is casual. You'll report to our Finance Supervisor and work closely with our Head of Finance.

What you'll do

- Manage the accounts inbox and respond to supplier queries

- Code and process supplier invoices in Xero across multiple sites

- Reconcile supplier statements and chase missing credits

- Reconcile bank and credit card statements in Xero

- Prepare supplier payment runs for approval

- Raise customer invoices and follow up overdue accounts [catering/wholesale]

- Support month-end close

- Help with other finance and admin tasks as needed

This role is mainly accounts payable. You'll handle a high volume of invoices from a wide range of suppliers across our sites. It suits someone who takes pride in accuracy and likes seeing a process run smoothly and on time.

What you'll bring





- At least 1–2 years' experience in accounts payable and/or receivable

- Xero experience, or experience with a similar cloud system and the ability to pick Xero up quickly

- Accuracy at volume: you notice when an invoice doesn't match the order

- Good organisation and follow-through without needing reminders

- Confidence dealing with suppliers and site managers

- Hospitality and multi-site experience (highly regarded)

- Full working rights in Australia

Hours and location

This is an office-based role. You'll start at our South Melbourne office, which moves to St Kilda Road in November/December 2026.

Hours are around 10–15 a week and vary with the workload. Expect more hours around month-end and busy periods, and fewer when things are quieter.
