This is a outstanding opportunity for an experienced Administration Officer who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and takes pride in providing exceptional service. You’ll play an important role in supporting patients throughout their hospital journey while ensuring our administrative and front-of-house services run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our patient services and front-of-house administration, working closely with patients, families and our clinical teams.
As a Administration Officer, you will be responsible for a broad range of administrative duties including:
- Managing the busy reception desk, including answering calls and handling inquiries
- Managing both electronic and paper-based medical records
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Maintaining accurate and efficient record management systems
- Supporting ward staff with administrative tasks
- Liaising with other departments and team members as required
- Completing other clerical tasks as requested,
such as data entry, scanning, preparing resources, and welcome packs
- Conducting Health Fund checks and other financial tasks related to admissions
Teamwork & Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively as a positive and supportive team member while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, professionalism, continuous improvement and patient-centred care.
- Share knowledge, support colleagues and actively participate in team meetings and organisational initiatives.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Excellent communication and high level customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
- The ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow tasks through to completion.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- A proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and patient management systems
- Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast-paced environment
