Part time position at La Jolla Cafe - open Monday to Friday 6:30am - 2:00pm

We're looking for a reliable, upbeat Barista and All Rounder to join our part time crew! As part of our small team, you'll wear many hats and keep the energy flowing. On any given day, you'll be doing a bit of everything, from dialing in espresso and prepping food to opening and closing the shop.

We open bright and early at 6:30am, so we need a true morning person who thrives at dawn! Most importantly, you will be the face of La Jolla Cafe. We want someone who genuinely loves connecting with people, remembering regulars' names and orders, and bringing fantastic energy to every morning.

Key Responsibilities

- Specialty Coffee: Dial in espresso, steam milk with precision, and craft high-quality specialty coffee drinks at a steady pace.

- Customer Relationship Building: Be bubbly, energetic, and welcoming! Greet regulars, learn their orders, and build lasting relationships with our daily customers.

- Cafe All-Rounder Duties: Handle food preparation, serve food and beverages, and keep the counter and seating areas spotless.

- Opening & Closing:



Execute opening duties (starting bright and early at 6:15 AM) and closing procedures (finished by 2:30 PM).

- POS & Operations: Efficiently take orders, process payments, and assist with inventory restocking.

About You

- 2 years of experience working with specialty coffee in a rapid-paced environment.

- Dependable, punctual, and naturally high energy for early starts.

- Warm, bubbly, and a natural with customers.

- Comfortable running shifts independently or as part of a small team, including food prep and cleaning.

- Must have long-term full work rights (permanent resident or citizen). Please note: We are currently not accepting short-term Working Holiday Visa applicants (e.g., 3-month visas).
