Every blind we make is custom-sized to a customer’s home or commercial project. It is built to exact millimetre measurements, not stamped out on a repetitive packing line. Stan Bond has been manufacturing quality window furnishings in Adelaide for more than 50 years. We are looking for a hands-on Blinds Assembler to join our Salisbury South factory team, working across our custom indoor roller blind and outdoor track-guided blind assembly benches.

What you will do

• Read job sheets and tablet instructions for custom-sized roller blinds, track-guided outdoor blinds, and awnings. • Measure and cut fabrics, aluminium tubes, bottom rails, side channels, and pelmets accurately using drop saws and cutting equipment.

• Assemble mechanical and motorized components: idlers, chain drives, heavy-duty springs, gearboxes, tubular motors, and brackets.

• Match components by job number and part code—distinguishing between parts that look almost identical.

- Check dimensions, squareness, alignment, smooth operation, and finish before passing the job to dispatch.
- Protect powder-coated and fabric surfaces. The customer and installer see every mark.
- Handle long materials safely (extrusions up to 6 metres) using team lifts and handling gear.
- Stop and speak up when a measurement, component, or instruction doesn’t match. On our floor, catching a mismatch early is doing the job properly, not slowing things down.

What you bring

You do not need previous blind-making experience.



We teach the product and our assembly methods. We are looking for practical mechanical aptitude, tool sense, and pride in workmanship:
- Practical experience measuring, cutting, and assembling using hand and power tools (e.g. drop saws, drills, pneumatic tools).

Backgrounds that transfer well include: aluminium window and door assembly, security screens, cabinetmaking or joinery, shopfitting, light metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, maintenance, trade-assistant work, or substantial personal building/making projects.
- Accurate metric measuring—we work to the millimetre.
- Ability to read and follow written job sheets and tablet instructions, and the confidence to ask when something is unclear rather than guess.
- Care for the finished product—you want to understand how it works on site, not just repeat an isolated motion.
- Reliable attendance: you will work a dedicated assembly station and the team depends on your station being ready.

Note: If your only experience is fast-paced warehouse pick-and-pack or food processing, this custom assembly role will likely not be the right fit. If you enjoy building things with your hands that have to fit precisely, we encourage you to apply.

The offer





• Full-Time Permanent (or Casual with 25% loading if preferred):
- Permanent rate: $27.08 to $27.97 per hour plus superannuation (Manufacturing Award C12–C11, based on demonstrable skills).
- Casual rate: $33.85 to $34.96 per hour plus superannuation (includes 25% casual loading).
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. No night shifts. No rotating rosters. No weekend work.
- Dedicated product training at your station with an experienced team member.
- Room to progress as you gain competency sign-off on more technical product families.

We design, manufacture, and install blinds, awnings, curtains, and security screens for South Australian homes, builders, and commercial landmarks. What you assemble on your bench this week will be installed on a customer's property next week.
