We are looking for a Blast Technician - Trainee to join our KCGM operation.

Reporting to Blast Supervisor you will play a vital role in carrying out Open Pit charging and blasting activities safely and in accordance with the blast plans.

This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team. Carrying out Open Pit charging and blasting activities safely, and in accordance with the blast plan at our Fimiston Open pit.

What you can look forward to:

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and standard operating procedures in relation to designing, charging and firing of open pit blasts.
- Account for all explosives used, participate in magazine, and shot reconciliations as per the statutory requirements and company procedures
- Display a clear commitment to safety and health, and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.
- Operate in accordance with and comply the Company's Safety and Health Policy, Health and Safety Management System, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

- Entry level position requiring no mining industry experience
- Current Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
- Current Unencumbered Western Australian "C" Class Drivers Licence
