Reporting to the Site Coordinator, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality fabrication trade duties for the effective maintenance and repairs to systems and equipment in accordance with TasPorts operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Undertake and ensure, with the direction of the Site Leadership, that all fabrication repairs and maintenance requirements of appropriate infrastructure, property, plant and equipment are identified and attended to in an efficient and timely manner.
- Modify and maintain mechanical equipment and facilities to prescribed operational, technical and safety standards.
- Draw layouts, read and interpret schematics, engineers' plans and other drawings.
- Assist with scoping of works, including budgeting and scheduling, and identifying and developing mechanical maintenance routines.
- Provide technical guidance and assist in directing the work of trade assistants, apprentice's and other employees.
- Willingness to work planned out of hours work and flexible hours when required and provide after hours and standby callout services in relation to maintenance and repairs.

This role is based in Devonport, Tasmania. Achieve greater work-life balance with our 9-day fortnight arrangement,



providing a regular long weekend every second week without compromising your career growth. About you The key experience we are looking for includes:

- Demonstrated relevant welding experience in domestic and commercial environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the current principles, methods and techniques required of and used in the fabrication trade.
- The ability to work with limited supervision, as part of a team, to meet business unit objectives.
- Willingness to undertake overtime and out of hours work to meet operational requirements.
- Demonstrated sound computer literacy skills (typing, computer, keyboard, software skills),

What you will have

Essential

- A heavy fabrication or welding trade qualification such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
- Current unrestricted Tasmanian drivers licence
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identify Card
- Satisfactory pre-employment medical assessment

Desirable

- Qualifications in the operation of maintenance and construction plant and equipment

- Confined Space Entry

- Working at heights
- Tasmanian High Risk Work Licence with classes

- Elevated Work Platform

- Forklift

- Dogging

- Provide First Aid
- Post Trade Welding Certificates (AS1796 - certificates 1 - 9)
