Role Description The Business Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Newcastle, NSW, responsible for overseeing day-to-day business operations and supporting strategic growth. This position manages key client relationships, coordinates inspection service delivery, and ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and in line with quality and safety standards. The role includes monitoring financial performance, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
The Business
Manager will collaborate closely with inspection teams, suppliers, and leadership to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and uphold compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Daily activities also involve identifying new business opportunities, supporting proposals and contracts, and contributing to the continuous improvement of operational workflows.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business management, operations, or project coordination, ideally within technical services, engineering, construction, or related industries.
- Strong skills in budgeting, financial tracking, and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and support data-driven decisions.
- Proven stakeholder management and client relationship skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid organizational and planning abilities, with experience in scheduling, resource allocation, process improvement, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of quality assurance and safety principles, with familiarity with industry standards, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in common business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management tools).
- Ability to work independently in office, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
