The opportunity

CPP is looking for a true people leader to guide and develop our national Contract Advisory team as the business continues to grow.

The Commercial Manager role is first and foremost about leadership. We are not necessarily looking for the person with the deepest technical knowledge or the longest list of commercial credentials. We need someone who can create clarity, build trust, set expectations and bring out the best in an experienced team.

You’ll lead 11 Contract Advisors located across Australia, with further team growth expected. Your focus will include coaching and development, workload and resource allocation, team wellbeing, stakeholder relationships and the continued improvement of commercial processes and ways of working.

You’ll also play an important role in helping CPP protect its commercial position across a varied portfolio of construction and energy infrastructure projects. For someone who enjoys leading people, influencing business outcomes and shaping a growing function, this role offers significant visibility and impact across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead,



mentor and develop a national team of Contract Advisors and Senior Contract Advisors.
- Balance team workloads and resources across multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Provide commercial and contractual guidance to Project Managers and operational stakeholders.
- Support contract negotiations, subcontract administration and procurement activities.
- Oversee contract hygiene, including notices, claims, variations and commercial compliance.
- Drive improvements to commercial processes, systems, templates and governance frameworks.
- Build strong relationships across project delivery, legal and operational teams.
- Support dispute management, insurance matters and contract risk mitigation initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

About You Desired Skills and Experience To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess

- Demonstrated experience leading sizeable commercial, contracts or professional services teams.
- Evidence of developing people, setting expectations and building a positive team culture.
- Strong prioritisation and resource-management capability across multiple projects or competing business demands.
- Sound construction-sector commercial, contract administration or legal knowledge
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge and influence senior leaders when required.
- A leadership style that combines empathy, humility and approachability with accountability and decisive decision-making
- A proactive approach to drive improvements to commercial processes, systems, and governance frameworks
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.




- Willingness to travel interstate several times a year

Experience in energy infrastructure, high-voltage construction or renewable grid connections would be valuable, but it is not essential. We are open to strong leaders from the broader construction, engineering, infrastructure, legal or commercial sectors. Be rewarded at CPP.
