COMMIS CHEF - Bommie Restaurant | Hamilton Island Yacht Club

Located within the iconic Hamilton Island Yacht Club, Bommie Restaurant is a Chef Hat-awarded fine dining restaurant showcasing modern cooking techniques, predominantly Western European flavour combinations and native Australian ingredients. We're looking for a qualified Commis Chef who is passionate about developing their craft in a premium kitchen environment. Working alongside an experienced brigade, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen your technical skills, learn from senior chefs and gain valuable experience within one of Hamilton Island's leading restaurants.

What you'll be doing

You'll work hands-on within the Bommie kitchen, supporting your section across preparation and service while learning the techniques, presentation and attention to detail required in a fine dining environment.



You'll work with Western European flavour combinations elevated through native Australian ingredients, developing your knowledge of produce, preparation and modern cooking techniques while ensuring every dish is prepared consistently to Bommie's standards.

What we're looking for

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential)
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
- A genuine interest in fine dining and modern cooking techniques
- Solid foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations
- Ability to follow detailed preparation and plating instructions consistently
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and teamwork
- A willingness to learn, take feedback and continue developing your culinary career
