Course Marketing Manager – Fixed Term (18 Months), Part Time (4 Days per week)

We are looking for an experienced marketing qualified to join our Marketing & Communications team as Course Marketing Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

- Lead the product marketing strategy and integrated campaigns for two new postgraduate award courses, while supporting marketing across AFTRS award courses and training.
- Shape clear, compelling and audience-focused positioning, messaging and content that build awareness, demand and applicant conversion.
- Work collaboratively across Marketing & Communications, Student Recruitment & Admissions, Teaching & Learning, Faculty, Industry & Alumni Engagement and external partners to deliver coordinated, data-informed campaigns.

About The Role The Course Marketing Manager leads the development and delivery of product marketing strategies for AFTRS’ award courses and training, with an initial focus on two new postgraduate award courses: one with applications scheduled to open in June 2027 for a 2028 intake, and another in 2028 for a 2029 intake.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, the role is responsible for positioning, audience segmentation, messaging, campaign planning, content creation, and data-informed marketing activity that builds awareness, demand and applicant conversion across all award courses. The role works collaboratively across key internal teams and leads marketing operations and coordination functions to support effective campaign delivery, reporting and continuous improvement.

The role will lead the Marketing Operations Lead as a shared enabling function for campaign setup, CRM segmentation, automation, dashboards and reporting. It will also lead the Marketing Coordinator in planning and delivering marketing activity for short courses, AFTRS for Business and Industry Partnered Training.

Key Accountabilities

- Product Marketing Strategy and Campaign Planning: Develop product marketing strategies and campaign plans for AFTRS award courses and training, including audience segmentation, market research, value propositions, positioning, messaging, channel strategy, campaign architecture and milestone planning and performance measures aligned to recruitment, admissions and enrolment targets.
- Integrated Campaign Delivery: Lead integrated campaign planning across digital advertising, website, SEO, SEM, content, EDM, social media, events, partnerships, recruitment activity, earned media and owned channels, working with internal colleagues and external suppliers to improve reach, relevance, lead generation and conversion, and strengthen AFTRS’ reputation as a provider of high-quality screen, audio and creative industry training.
- Content, Assets and Brand Alignment:



Coordinate the planning, development and optimisation of campaign and course assets, including web copy, landing pages, EDM journeys, collateral, social content, paid media assets, prospectus copy, video content and case studies, ensuring all content is aligned with AFTRS brand, tone of voice, accessibility requirements, course approval status, admissions information and audience needs.
- Marketing Operations: Lead the Marketing Operations Lead to ensure campaign setup, tracking, automation, CRM data, segmentation, lead scoring, lead nurturing and reporting are aligned with objectives.
- Lead Handoff: Work closely with the Marketing Operations Lead and Student Recruitment & Admissions to ensure smooth lead handoff processes, shared lead definitions, follow-up workflows and reporting across the applicant journey.
- Performance, Reporting and Insights: Monitor, review and optimise campaigns using available performance data, dashboards and reports, including website analytics, paid media results, EDM engagement, enquiry data, event attendance, application starts and conversion indicators, to provide insights and recommendations that improve performance, audience engagement, applicant conversion and return on investment, and contribute to M&C; and P&D; reporting where required.
- Budget Management: Provide budget advice, track campaign expenditure and support cost-effective marketing activity that delivers agreed outcomes within available resources.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong working relationships with Student Recruitment & Admissions, Teaching & Learning, Faculty, course development teams, ICT, Industry & Alumni Engagement and other internal stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Convene or contribute to cross-functional working groups to ensure course marketing activity is integrated with course development, admissions planning, recruitment activity and stakeholder communications.
- Stakeholder Advice: Provide clear advice to stakeholders on positioning, audience insights, campaign priorities, content needs, timelines, risks and dependencies.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve marketing processes, workflows, campaign planning tools and reporting practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across all award courses and training.
- Course-related Activities: Work with relevant teams at AFTRS to feed into and support course-related activities and recruitment events, where required.

- Other Duties:



There may be a requirement to undertake tasks outside the scope of the responsibilities listed to support the organisation. AFTRS will engage in a conversation should these tasks arise.

About you – You Have:

- Qualifications and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Marketing and Product Positioning: Demonstrated experience launching and marketing education programs or relevant products/services, including defining audience segments, value propositions, positioning, messaging and campaign strategies for new products or programs.
- Integrated Digital Campaigns: Demonstrated experience developing and delivering integrated digital marketing campaigns across channels such as website, EDM, SEO, SEM, paid media, social media, content and events.
- Copywriting and Content Development: Excellent copywriting, editing and content development skills, with the ability to translate complex course, curriculum or industry information into clear, compelling and audience-focused messaging.
- Marketing Data, CRM and Optimisation: Strong analytical skills, including experience using campaign data, audience insights, market research, CRM insights and reporting to inform positioning, audience strategy, campaign optimisation, product marketing decisions and conversion improvement.
- Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple campaigns, stakeholders, deadlines, dependencies and priorities simultaneously.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, build productive stakeholder relationships and provide clear, practical advice to senior stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- People and Supplier Management: Proven ability to manage or lead staff, contractors or suppliers to deliver agreed marketing outcomes.
- Client Focus and Accessibility: Strong client focus and commitment to accessible, inclusive and audience-centred communications.
- Safe and Inclusive Work Environments: Experience fostering culturally and psychologically protected work environments.
